I just got a captured gen4 recoil assembly from glockmeister in today and was expecting the end of it to have an allen key that allows you to change springs. This is not the case though as the end cap/screw is just a smooth surface. Does anyone know if this end cap is actually a screw that is threaded into the rod? Or does this assembly not come apart? There is actually no information on the Glockmeister website about this.

I tried calling Glockmeister to figure this out, but no one answered the phone. So i decided from a manufacturing cost perspective that it would not make sense for them to use a different guide rod than the one they sell separately for gen3s that comes with an allen key end cap. Turns out I was right, the end cap for the Gen4 assembly is screwed into the guide rod with red loctite holding it in place. I used a pair of pliers, small vise grips, and a 5/16" washer to take it apart and put it back together. Now I can change out springs like originally planned.

used the washer to push the gen4 adapter down, then unscrewed with vice grips
