good load for 40 S&W using red dot

Hello all,

Does anyone have a good load data for 40 s&w using plated 180 grain RNFP bullets with red dot powder?

I'm looking for the minimum and maximum load. Or if you have a good load you like to use that would be great. I tried the alliant powder web site and it gives no data for red dot with this bullet. Thank you.

I will be shooting this out of a baby desert eagle full size.

Alliant used to recommed 5.0 grains with a 180 JHP bullet.

That was supposed to give 980 FPS at 34,000 PSI.

I would reduce 10% for a starting load, and most likely stay there with a plated bullet, if it cycles the action O.K.
