Met Hawkmoon at Chris' in Guilford, CT. Decent range, nice friendly owner. Rents guns and only charged my wife and I $11.00 total to shoot because we were with Hawk. So Hawkmoon tries my Dinan Colt and drills a beautiful group out at 25 ft. Then he says, "You know that's the gun and not me." :p

Then I continued my "Weekend of Shooting" this A.M when I dragged my dead carcass down to Salem, CT to shoot yet another ConTact match with juggler and the crew down there. Another great learning experience coupled with plenty of yukkin' it up. I managed to not shoot up his target frames this time but still have a little problem with taking and maintaining cover. Guess I'll have to shoot a few more. :D

You CT CCW out there don't know what you are missing if you don't check this out! Virtually free practical handgun training.

Perhaps because there's so much of you to cover?

(I know -- look who's talking  )

Wide blocks of quartzite are available here.....

But the barrel of your revolver must be longer than 4"
and that of a semi-auto greater than 5.5".

Oh, and no calibers larger than .38....

John Howard doesn't like 'big guns'.

Just for the record. When I said "skinny trees" that was a joke, we're not REALLY running around in the woods hididng behind trees we shoot in a small area surrounded on 3 sides by berm and use movable plywood stands as "cover"

And to wrap up my Weekend of shooting?

I gotta lotta guns to clean!

:D

That's cause everybody knows big guns will kill you deader than little ones!

Methinks someone should explain that to the general whose recommendation for laser sights on Berettas in Iraq is the topic of another thread currently running.

It sounds too fun

I'm sorry to have missed it. My range was shut down for saturday so I stayed home and avoided work. What in ConTact? Practical Pistol of some sort? I'm just starting on plate shooting and I'm getting hooked.

Again due to my work schedule I can't get out much on the weekends but I'll take anybody with me for some shooting during the week at my club range. I'll be back from alaska on the 15th and I would really enjoy meeting you all

Hi Pete,

Sorry you missed it too. There's a ConTact match every Saturday at a range in Salem. As far as I'm concerned it is not a "Match" per se but a hands on IDPA style shoot. The object is to practice with what you carry. There are no race guns. The RSO's are all very knowledgeable people and they volunteer their time. The only thing you pay for is your ammo and $2 to cover targets, tape etc. Unless you have the best score. The prize is you don't have to pay the $2. So the pressure is really on. :p

Plus we have a good old time. We had a new guy "TJ" come this weekend, after his very first round he comes walking back from the line with a big grin on his face and says, "THAT WAS :cuss: FUN!!"

:D

I would just have to know before hand if you wanted to show. Same for anybody else. That way I could give juggler a heads up but new people always seem more than welcome. I think they'd even dig a gun up for you if you just wanted to try a few rounds and didn't have one.
