Good vibe at the range

Show up at range and two guys have scarfed up a ton of 30-06 and,270 brass. The shooting area is pristine. I said in a lighthearted way that they had cramped my style since I was addicted to scrounging range brass. They both immediately offered for me to help myself to their pile. Of course I declined.

Next a fellow lost a band off the front of his rifle. I opined I had heard those things end up down range. At range cold, several guys took the time to look and it was found 10 - 12 yards down range.

We have plenty of aggregating range stories, but today was really positive.

Until the fellow with the 50 cal and Huge brake settled in beside my station. Hung in for one shot then just watched. Felt like I was slapped hard on the back, but it was all good!

Sounds like a positive experience. I have met more really decent people at ranges, than people I would like to avoid. I like to take extra ammo and allow others to test my firearms if they like. We are no doubt a good bunch of people. Sounds like you certainly did your part there too. Regarding the 50 cal fella, sounds like a bit of indiscretion on his part. Any time I fire my (say .300 Win Mag), I make sure others are clear. That muzzle break I have really lays down some blast. All-in-all, a great day!
