Got a used Browning Special Trap today. I tried shouldering several different brands over the past couple of months. I almost bought a Ruger Red Label last month. I'm glad I did not, because this one points much better for me.

Heres the specs: 12g, 30" Invector plus ported barrels, adjustable butt pad. c.1996, made in Japan. In good shape. The most finsh wear is on the bottom of the receiver. The wood has some light surface dents, no deep gouges or cracks.

The bonus is the leather case, in addition to the original cardboard box.
The downside is that the manual, extra chokes and wrench are missing. The barrels have "M" chokes in them now. I found a web site that I can order new chokes are wrench for not too much. The manual I already downloaded from the Browning website.

I got it for $850 out the door. The case appears to go for about $180 online. I can replace the missing chokes and wrench for about $75.

I feel like I did pretty well, but not a steal. What do you guys think? I can't wait to try it out and see if I can hit anything. :p

Looks like a deal to me. JT

Here's an old ad from Hi Grade Shooters I googled up -

Trap o/u Browning Special Trap o/u 12ga30"invector plus cts,ported,nickel receiver,monte carlo stock On-hand
Price $1495.00, Sale Price $1195.00

That is a great gun & a great deal; I'd give you $850.00 for that gun in a heartbeat. I have a 32" Citori XT myself; I've had the stock recast (off), and a Jones Adjuster and Kick-eez pad installed.

Go ahead & pattern the gun as it is; your stock Browning Mod chokes are only about .014", which are fine for 16yd singles and doubles. For new chokes I recommend Brileys, I'd go with Improved Mod (.025"), Light Full (.030") and Full (.035"); I shoot the Briley Light Full in my under barrel. Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies.
Can't wait to shoot it.
I'm looking forward to trying trap. I've never actually done it before.
