Thanks for the info everyone gave about rifles and gunshows. Well I bought a bushmaster V match today. I guess I didn't listen to all the good advice cause I just got a so-so deal. But it is a nice rifle. Has I think a 24" hbar barrel. I'm not sure where you measure back too but from the muzzel 20" back is up on the hand guard so I'm pretty sure it is 24". Has rings and a cheap 3x9 rubber armored scope on it. The bases are low, too low. That and a hard case and a 10 round mag was $950. They sold it for used but it has not been shot much at all. They said they had bought $18000 worth of guns from a guy on the gulf coast that was selling out of his house and was getting out of his inventory. Sounded good anyway. Msrp is $1135 so I saved a little bit. Still had cosmoline and no wear except a little spot on the shell deflector.
I put 90 rounds through it. Couldn't tell much because the scope mounts has, I guess, metric allen head screws and I couldn't tighten them up. The scope was just loosely placed and 180 degrees off. I loosened the screws up and turned it 180 and then I couldn't tighten them.
Anyway we had a lot of fun just shooting it. I had a buddy of mine and my 11year old, Alden with me. After Alden shot a 20 round mag through it he set it down pulled his ear muffs off and had the biggest grin on his face. Priceless.
Can't wait to get a good scope tightened down on her to see what she'll do. Probably tomorrow.
