Well I picked up my Kimber on Friday after a quick lay-away, and I definitely wanted to put some rounds through her. Went to the range with my uncle, my wife, and my bro. Brought the gun along with 100 rounds of WWB FMJ, and away we went. Great trigger. Had 0 FTE's/FTF's. Twice we had the slide fail to return to battery, within the first 30 rounds. We attributed that to the break-in period (Kimber recommends 500 rounds), and after browsing a few forums that seems to be the case. The next 70 were flawless. This was the Crimson Carry model, but I had the laser turned off for most of the shooting as I wanted to become proficient with the sights. The sights were all black, so I grabbed my hunter's orange nail polish and dolled up the front sight.

Here are some better groups. All targets were 5 shots made at 21 feet with 230gr 45 ACP.

This was one of the first few targets I shot. That's 3 in the middle and a flyer to the left. Gun seemed to keyhole early on, but it was corrected. The flyer looked like a keyhole initially.

Another 5 shots.

Shots 95-100, done with the laser. It's accurate enough out of the box, no adjustments were made. Don't ask me where that fifth shot went. :?

A satisfied Kimber owner!

Guess that makes me a gun snob now.:p For real, I've never owned a full size handgun, this is great to shoot and once my carry gear comes in, I'm sure it will be a plus to carry. Waiting on an Aker gunbelt and a crossbreed supertuck. A bit harder to conceal than my J-frame, but something I am already much more confident with.
