I went out to the range today & I noticed they upped the price a buck. I asked why and the cashier told me they were losing money on the clays. We got to talking about ways to generate revenue for the club & I pointed out that very few people even know the place exists.
Hence, This thread

The name of the place is The Pikes Peak Gun Club . it's on Franklin Coal Mine Road (just east of mile marker 6 on hwy 94).

They have a skeet range, a sporting clay ( I'm not sure what the difference is) range, a pistol range and a rifle range.

Nice facilities 7.50$ a day for non-members 4.50$ for members ( I THINK we paid 142.00$ for a years membership) .

wow that is not expensive at all...the cheapest place here in illinois that I know of is $14 for non-members each hour!

That's cheap. Here we pay $10.00 for a fifty foot indoor range per hour, plus $6.50 per hour for each additional shooter sharing the lane, and you have to buy your ammo at the range: no reloads, and nothing from a cheaper mass retailer.

If I were there I don't think I'd want to advertise too much, at those prices I'd be tempted to keep it a secret to keep the crowds down.

^^yeah know wonder this colorado range isn't doing that great financially..The owner is practically giving away range time.

QUOTE:"One question though, what days are they open ?"

I want to say Tuesday thru Sunday 8 to 5 (all out door ranges)
the pistol range has a 7,10 & 25 yard line. & the rifle range has 25, 50. 100, 150( I think) & 200 yard lines I was down there for an hour today all by myself, it was great but not great enough that I wanted to risk the club going under to keep it that way.

Most of the clinetel is military, retirees & cops. very few range commandos.( unlike Dragon Man's). No ROs, members just handle it them selves.

PS the range is part of The Isaac Walton League ( I have no idea so don't ask) & is a non profit entity.
