I had a great visit to the range and just wanted to share with you guys.
I have been working up some hollow point loads in 38SPL +P and finally got two powder and bullet combos that work in the S&W Model 64 I have.
(I used water jugs for the tests and the penetration worked out to ~12" in gelatin)
Here's a couple pics.
The lead one is a Hunter Supply Octogon Hollow Point. The bullet started out as a 158 grain hollow point that I drilled out for a wider cavity and lower bullet weight.
The weight is now 140 and it opens up just fine, before I drilled it out I couldn't get much expansion out of it...
The JHP is a Sierra Sports Master 140 grain JHP.
