Earlier in the week I decided to put one of my AR's up for trade on a S&W revolver. I have been looking for a better quality .357 than I currently own for hunting deer and small game. I traded off a DPMS/Delton upper AR. The AR was in great condition, had a chrome lined lightweight bbl and shot really well. In trade I was offered a Smith 19-5 Blued, and a 29-3 6" Blued. The 29 needed a rear sight and had a couple holes drilled for a scope mount (its definintley just a shooter). Neither had original grips, but I'd say I did OK. I threw in a case, 20 rounds of Hornady vmax and 2-30 round mags for the gentleman purchasing the AR.

How did I do?

that's a decent deal. From the sounds of things, I have a very similar AR. IIRC, I paid about 600 bucks when I built it a few years ago, so that's a very nice trade.

Sounds like a killer deal to a revolver guy like me. I think you did great. Considering one can buy a nice AR these days for $750.00 new, and the average 6in Model 29 I see is selling for close to 800 or more, you did great!
