Anyone have a green dot scope (site)? If so how do you like it?. Been looking at them as with my instigmatism my red dot looks like a star. I guess this is common with a lot of people. Thanks

If your astigmatism is bad you may want to try a 1x prism scope.

Green dots appear brighter so you can often use them at a lower intensity setting, this works better for some people with astigmatism.

You can compare for yourself red vs green and various reticle types by getting one of the less expensive red/green dots from Amazon. They are offered with both red ang green and usually come with 4 different reticles. Or you can find someone who has both you can try.

I prefer green dots, just because I feel they are easier for me to pick up, but I don't have the astigmatism issue.

Do you mean an actual scope that magnifies or a electronic sight that just superimposes a dot on glass aka red dot?

If you mean a red dot, but in green I use a Holosun 507C in green. And it is much more comfortable with my astigmatism than traditional red dots.

I have a Holosun Green 407K on my Mete SFX. Well over a year, holds zero perfectly and several brightness levels to set. 9a-Canik Holosun.jpg

I would like to find something like the Burris fast fire I have only with a green dot. I can't remember what I have on my Rossi right now, that has a red or green dot. The green is far more clearer. But this wouldn't work on my 686. Thanks

I have the same combo on the same gun, but I'm thinking I should have bought the 507K instead. I like the idea of the 32 MOA reticle with the 2 MOA dot better, at least for my old eyes. So, I'll probably sell the 407 in favor of the 507. (just my personal preference)

This shows some of the red dots have the same footprint as the Burris:

You would have to check the specs for each to see which offer a green dot option.

If the footprint can be something else Holosun and Swampfox offer green dot options. I have both and can recommend them.

>>Never heard of swampfox.<<

I have a Swampfox "Kingslayer" on my Browning Buckmark and it does a great job. I don't know that I'd put it on a heavy caliber gun though, but perhaps I'm wrong.

I considered the 507 but had the chance to shoot a sight with the circle reticle and didn't care for it, the 407's green dot has been perfect for me.

Anyone doubting the toughness of the Swampfox optics should watch the Sage Dynamics video reviews of them. I linked one up thread.

Sage Dynamics torture tests a whole slew of optics and maintains the results on their web site.

I have at least one of every Swampfox micro dot optic and run them on everything from 22lr to 45 ACP without any issues.

@savagelover everyone's eyes are different so what works for one might not work for others. I can say that green reticles definitely work better for me with my astigmatism. Another thing that helps is to keep the brightness turned down a much as possible while still being able to see the dot.

And to answer your question about picatinny rail mounts. The Swampfox Kingslayer comes with one. Swampfox sells a picatinny mount for $20 if you decide to go with the Liberty or Justice optics. The Sampfox adaptor will work with any micro dot that uses the RMR footprint. The Kingslayer has a manual on/off while the Liberty and Justice are shake to wake. All are available in green. The Kingslayer has a circle dot reticle while the Liberty and Justice have a 3 MOA dot.

The ADE does NOT come with a picatinny base adapter. I didn't see you wanted it for a revolver, sorry.

I read something about wearing sunglasses to improve the visibility of the red dot. Who's gonna do that while hunting?
