Well I went to the toy store over the weekend and they had a GSG 1911 22lr sitting the case with the fake suppressor on it. :D I decided to fondle it a bit then had to pull the trigger and buy it! First impression at the gun shop were very good, it really feels like a quality pistol with heavy mags. I was surprised at how heavy the mags were and seem like they will be very durable. I compared this one to a Chiappa, but according to the shop owner the GSG will fire standard velocity 22lr rounds where the Chiappa needs high velocity ammo. The GSG just appeared to be a higher quality so it came home with me! :D Took it to the range on Sunday and put 130 rounds through it (Federal American Eagle). The magazine is hefty, but I had to make sure the last round loaded was pushed ALL the way to back of the mag as I had one round come out the ejection port when I dropped the slide on a full mag and had not pushed the last round tight against the back of the mag. That was the first mag I loaded and never had an issue after that. Fired all the ammo just fine with only one round failing to go off. It had a hard hit on the rim, just didn't go off. I turned it 90 degrees and loaded it again into the mag, dropped the slide, pulled the trigger and sure enough it went off. I chalk that up to poor ammo, nothing to do with the pistol itself. It's a little more involved to take down than a standard 1911 with a barrel locking pin and barrel locking screw. Not a big deal, just a little different. I ordered 2 mags from Midway USA and they are not cheap, $34.00 a mag for 22lr is a little expensive, but they do appear be high quality. Pistol shot POI=POA right out of the box at 30ft. It comes with 2 extra front sights of different heights. I plan on putting some more different type of ammo through it this week to see what happens. So far I'm very pleased with this 22lr 1911. Anyone thinking of buying one should! They are fun little plinking pistol.

How was the trigger?

Trigger is fine but the grip safety is more problematic with conscience pressure required. My other 1911s when griped the safety is not even noticeable.
