This is my early birthday present to myself. I'm a huge Civil War and WWII buff and have my own collection of stuff as many of you may know. Today I finally grabbed one of these and am super pleased and excited to own it.

It's the GSG Stg 44 repro in .22 caliber. It's pretty much as close to any of can come to owning the original thing and it makes a super nice addition to my collection of WWII stuff. I love it. Can't wait to get it out and shoot it!!

It weighs and feels awful close to an original which I've only held once. Been wanting one since they were released. I also got it with the original wooden collectors edition crate.:)

Just ordered a couple extra mags for it too!

Very nice congrats! I had to get one as well but I haven't shot mine a whole lot.

I got to handle the GSG MP40-22 at the Shot Show and it was pretty neat as well, although I didn't really dig the fake suppressor.

Yeah, the fake suppressor totally ruins it in my opinion. Stupid 16" barrels!! Lol. That's the whole reason I got the tax stamp and shortened my semi-auto Thompson. They just don't look right with the longer barrel.

Anyway, the guy at my LGS told me that it has been rumored that GSG is possibly looking into making a .22 BAR as well!

If .22LR ammo is ever readily available at reasonable prices again I wouldn't mind buying one.

I have shot mine a little bit....it is a fricken heavy 22, and shoots pretty darn well. I really enjoy it. Seemed to eat all kinds of ammo I tossed at it. Pick yourself up a repro 98k sling and you are all set.

I love mine. Its a great "fun gun". It has been extremely reliable so far and accurate. Since .22RF is scarce I do not burn bricks of ammo thru it like when I first got it. Mags are easier to get and the price has come down. I too did not care for the MP-40 with the can on the end,but understand that they had to comply with the current anti Second Amendment laws now in effect.
