my insurance wont cover a vision restoring eye surgery (lasik)

and it cost 4k bucks!

is it wrong in anyway to have a raffle for a pistol i own? to help get the money for the surgery??? I will be straight forward with where the money is going.NO funny stuff.

i cant make up my mind on this one... i just wanna see!! with out thick glasses!

Is this expectable??

"HI, would like to buy a chance to win a ruger pistol? the procceds go to a vision restoring surgery aka lasik for myself thanks"

Nothing wrong with the premise, but some states have strict rules regarding raffles, so be sure to check beforehand. Another option is to keep your guns and shop around for Lazik centers that offer extended payments. It's a competitive business and they may have an installment plan available.

A raffle is a lottery and considered gambling. There are a lot of laws, license requirements, etc., about gambling. There are exceptions of bona fide charities that have qualified for and been granted by the IRS a tax exemption under certain subdivisions of Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code.

So you really can't legally run a raffle for your personal benefit, no matter how clear the disclosure.
