early this year I had a hernia procedure.
I stopped carrying IWB as it hurt like heck.
Also stopped doing gun games-anything hauling
stuff, moving witha rifle etc.
Anyhow i thought I was home free for
several months until I started having abdominal
pains again last month. sucks.
Im giving up hunting , archery and gun games
till then. Sucks. Sorry for the vent.
maybe I need to switch hobbies. I miss
those 3 gun He man events. Anybody else?
just thankful for every day.

Are you talking about an inguinal hernia. Those usually hold well and cause no long term problems. In other words you are uaually good as new. Now you can with heavy lifting re-rupture the area. Scar tissue can sometime cause some discomfort. Hope it gets O:K cause you should be able to do almost anything you did prior. Or was it a abdominal hernia also called a ventral hernia. Those are easier to re-rupture and scar tissue is more common. If you have a big abdomen (sorry just had to say it) losing it will make alot of difference. ;)

I hope you have gone back to your primary care provider or the surgeon who did the hernia repair to report the new onset of abdominal pain. They can determine if it is something new and different or related to the hernia repair.

"maybe I need to switch hobbies"

or maybe you are like a lot of the rest of us and just need a new body! :)

I feel for you. I just got over a bout of gout in my foot when the bone spur in my heel flairs up again. Geting ready for hunting season is a real pain for me this year.

Best of luck with your maladies.

Thanks

yeah Im back to my primary doc
taking some NSAIDs. I did return to
my normal self for a few months-its an
inguinal hernia and the surgeon did
assure me that Id be back to Normal
stuff. As usual Im probably one of those
3%-recurrence rate. What I need is to throttle
back. My work is manual so I need to
look somewhere else. Heck at worst maybe
no more 12g, no more magnum rifles-
take care guys.

Been there medically...

What one can't understand, unless one experiences this, is the emotional lacking when medical conditions set in and change yur life-style. My medical issues were actually all auto-accident related. All the same, going from hunting/shooting weekly, to nothing, changes life at a fundamental level. I actually had to re-enter not with rifles, but with a T/C Contender, then an Encore. Next up to .22 LR long-guns, and settled back into the non-magnum rifles about a year later. Also, went autoloader to reduce recoil (M1A Loaded). I too would like to do the three gun competitions, but I have come to know and now accept my limits. For my part, I'm simply thankful for any degree of shooting/hunting participation.

I hope that your medical issues resolve COMPLETELY!
