Gun Shops: Memphis TN to Batesville AR

Hi THR'ers,

I'm off for another trip, this time driving from Memphis to Batesville AR in the Ozarks. Nothing will be open Thanksgiving Day as I drive in but I have hopes for Friday and Saturday around Batesville and on the way to and from Mountain View.

If there are any good places for C&R and milsurp please let me know before I leave Wednesday night. I see lots of listings in a search of World Pages.com but none of it is as useful as first hand experience.

Nothing in the area that I can think of. I don't know the Memphis stores, though I've visited a couple that weren't bad.

Jonesboro has no good C&R stuff but has a couple of decent gun stores, nevertheless. Al's Lock & Key isn't bad and Trent's Rental Center is pretty decent.

Don't know Batesville at all but Chuck Coe at Chuck's Bait & Ammo (or something like that) in Newport is a good guy, he just doesn't have much inventory.

In many ways, you are SOL for really good gun stores in NE Arkansas.

I don't think you will find much C&R in Batesville. They do have 2 or 3 gunsmith stores. Might be interesting.
