I have a feeling that for $599 it was in above average condition for an unissued Yugo considering most unissued SKS's still look like they have been drug through a war zone for a few years.

But around here SKS's seem to have gone up in price. Most used ones I see in classified adds have an asking price of $350. Beats me if they actually sell or not.

Bought a Chinese SKS para recently and took it home to find it full of grease. Took hours to get it out. Got it for $175 and can't wait to shoot it.

Funny how much ammo has gone up. When I bought my M44 mosian (for $65) I paid $65 for 880 rounds in seald cans.

I didn't get but a glance at the Yugo before it and buyer were swept away, but it was pristine, obviously never fired with beautiful blond furniture. West coast also seems to have infltated prices for SKS's now that AK/MAK-90 variants have disappeared from shelves at least where I'm at.
I was surprised at K98 prices. I got both of mine for 89.99 each and they were in darn good shape. Course that was in the 80s'.
Saw maybe 10-12 Garands, only one of them really clean and they we're all at least $1000. There was a Nagant pistol there, said it was a target model with big grips going for $450 I think it was, not to familar with those but seemed expensive.

Gunshows take place in a unique bubble of time/space where the current market values mostly have no effect (similar to concessions at airports and sporting events). On top of that, they make you pay admission and parking for the privilege of viewing this phenomenon.

I just went to a gun show in the milwaukee area and the prices were stupid high...I didn't see too many guys walking out with new(or used) rifles the day I was there. Same goes for the old crusty surplus ammo that everyone was trying to hawk.
One guy was trying to sell used AK mags for $25 and sks slings for $15!
lol
Granted- your stuff, your prices if you don't like it walk...but who's side are they on?

The prices at this year's Wanenmacher's show were actually pretty good. I was only looking at handguns, but I did end up saving money.

I got this FNP-9 and the holster, mag pouch, and a belt to put it on for just under $450 all new.

I paid $110 for E. German Mak. It was a friend deal. Best money I ever spent. Just fondling it fills me with the joy of gun lust.

Wanenmachers was an entirely new experience for me. 11 acres of gunshow is a little more than I'm used to.

Saw lots of good deals. Best deal I got was on brass for my 6.5 swedish mauser
Got 230 pieces of brass for $26 and change. Only 5 of those brass were NOT RP 6.5 Other 5 were a few S&B's, a Winchester and one piece of 7x57 that got mixed in...I am Very pleased

I looked hard at a Norinco 1911 for $400 no papers, trigger job and new barrel, with a spare mag. I'm not sure if passing it up was a good idea or not...Was that a good deal that I let slip through my fingers?
