I was at the Ft. Worth Gunshow which is in Frisco, TX yesterday and today. Overall, it is nearly the same vendors as the ones which go to the Ft. Worth location.

Pricing: On new firearms, pricing seems to be within literally a few dollars of Bud's - so pretty good. Of course, you would have to pay tax though.

On used firearms, the vendors ranged from great pricing to the ridiculous.

If you plan to go and you're bringing a firearm for sale/trade, be prepared for a huge backup at the door. I don't think they planned on the level of traffic yesterday - it was pretty crazy.

Went on Saturday, turn out was great. Lots of vendors, plenty of stuff. Being in Frisco, (N Dallas suburb) I am certain that there were a bunch of folks there that would never set foot in Market Hall, Big Town, or either of the Convention Centers (my opinion ONLY).

I went yesterday, and walked away with mixed feelings.

On the positive side, it was really good to see a show in the Metroplex that's being hosted on the north side of I635.

On the negative side, I felt that the layout of the show, shoehorned as it was into the Stars' practice rink (sans ice), made it seem amateurish. The tables on the rink floor were too close together to separate browsers from walkers, while the vendors stuck up on the mezzanine really seemed to suffer from a reduction in floor traffic relative to their counterparts on the floor. Also, the number of vendors seemed less than is normally seen at Market Hall or Mesquite, but not markedly so. The same 'big' exhibitors were there (good) but there seemed to be fewer of the smaller/private sellers than you'd see at Big Town or Market Hall (bad).

All in all, kudos to the organizers for finding the venue and making it happen, but I think that they'd be more successful in a different venue if they could find such a place.

I did manage to luck into buying a 90% S&W 10-5 from a private seller for a reasonable price; that was nice. :)

I was impressed with the turnout, from both the crowd and the vendors. Went Saturday around 1pm and it was jam packed. Lots of great products...especially a sweet magnesium firestarter.
Like many gun shows recently, I thought you really had to search for a good price. There were a couple of gems out there, but for the most part, the prices were rather high. $475 for a CAI AK? $1500 for a Colt LE AR?
Still, the crowd was good, the vendors were kind, and had a good selection of weapons and ammo (10mm was hard to find). Bought some great bison jerky, that firestarter (I recommend to everyone), some AR parts and a book. Shoulda gotten one of the Gonzalez or early Texas flags.

I went on Saturday from 3pm - 5pm, huge crowd. The lady taking money at the door had a stack of $20 bills 10 inches high. The layout was odd, especially for those vendors without tables on the rink floor. I too got one of the firestarters and big bag of the bison jerky, got home from work today to find the kids ate it all. The usual range of prices. I hope they continue in frisco because I cannot stand driving to fort worth or mesquite...........and igot the wife an LCP for $239 new.
