Thought i would give a gun show report and tell people what is actually happening contrary to what the news is putting out.

At the show on 1/19 (NorthTexas) his description did not match what I saw. Ammo was 3X over normal price and not a good selection. Hand guns were about 20% increased over normal prices and selection was down. AR/AK offering were slim but prices have started to come down. There was a fair number of people bring guns to sell but not more than 5% of the people present. Most of the sellers did not seem to be sucessful.

Plain-jane Five-seveN pistols like the one I bought last year for 800$ were listed between 3500-4000$ at the Mesquite Gunshow in DFW --with takers! I love the gun, but damn. I need to go find a desperate sucker...

I noticed at the weekend show in Oregon that there were a lot more females of all ages compared to previous shows.

Also, prices for everything were higher, contrary to what the OP is seeing at his shows. Not AR/AK high, but still higher.

I've seen a decent number of classy Southern belles. There were some college girls at the last gun show I went to doing some fundraising for a charity for disabled children. Chatted up a brunet and she told me that they had collected a couple thousand in a matter of hours.

Forgive me. I do not believe the video's assertion for a minute. You stated that you cannot find ammo to save your life and then you try and downplay that there is a buying craze. Otherwise you would have found some bulk ammo to shoot. And you insult those of us who acted prudently and built up a stock for times like these. Sour grapes.

I unfortunately see fathers using their inappropriately dressed teenage daughters to carry whatever firearm they are trying to sell. Very blatant and...well, gross. Seen this about 3 times recently.

I don't know if I want to go to the show next time or not. I haven't been to one since the buying frenzy began.

I was at the Ft. Pierce, FL gun show today and was privy to the number of concealed weapons students that went though the training over 2 days with 2 classes per day: 244. You can extrapolate how much income that is and how many more people are taking these classes in larger venues.
Overall, prices were about the same for most items with the exception of high capacity magazines. Inventory overall was much lower with "hot" items being sold out.

You are making an assumption that the guns are not for the "teenage girl". Sometimes those "teenage girls" are a bit older and the guns are for them. I have seen numerous "sweet young things" with their fathers or boyfriends at a range where the "sweet young thing" is the shooter and the father or boy friend is the novice. Appearances are not necessarily always correct.
Private people selling firearms at the local shows is an exception not the rule. Most go to buy and not sell. And some that sell also buy more than they sold.

Gun Show in my area this past weekend: Probably 3 times the normal attendence. A LOT of people carrying firearms to sell. Ammo was at least doubled, and not much of it [saw Russian 7.62x39 for $15 a box]. Don't recall seeing any .22lr at the show. Magazines were doubled or more. AR-15 and AK variants $500 - $800 more than "normal". SKS's . . . couldn't find one for less than $450. Saw a very used Hi-Point 995 for $550!! Lines were huge. . . . pretty much all day. Seems that the only winners were the gun show promoters.

I came with money, . . . left with nothing [but the money I came with, that is].

Just yesterday the wife & I were at our local range. A couple of the regulars had a whole gaggle of teens & tweens out for their intro to pistol shooting. To describe them as "hot" would be just creepy so I'll say "cute as a button." Listening to them in the lounge afterwards I would say we have a few more future shootists.

Plenty of the young gals who frequent our range are not dragalongs and more than a few can outshoot their SOs.

No what I said was cretin things are getting bought at ridiculous prices but when it comes to hunting rifles, older firearms and the the majority of the ammo the prices have not changed. The only ammo affected is .223, 7.62x39, some 9mm and .22lr. The only guns affected are AR-15's and AK47s. Even The FN FAL, the G3, and M14's were just about the same price. I actually saw a few good deals on Enfields and a few older revolvers. Like I said the Guns with ridiculous prices are not selling for the most part. The prices are up one those select guns that could fall under a ban but there are not that many suckers willing to pay $1600 for a Romanian AK47. I don't think you understood what I was saying. The long lines are partly due to people wanting to cash in on this supposed gold rush and sell whatever they can find. People are not buying in quantities or at the prices that the media is putting out.
