I have an STI Eagle 5.1 in .40 that was passed down to me from my father. The gun has a very light and short trigger, it's clearly designed for IPSC competitions.

I would like to sell the gun, buy I'm unclear how valuable it is. I understand that STI renamed the Eagles from 5.1 to 5.0, and they seem to run ~$1500 on GunBroker. The gun has less than a thousand rounds ( my father never really got involved in IPSC ).

The gun looks great and I have 6 magazines for the gun. What should I sell it for?

Thank you,
Michael Marks

If you like to shoot, KEEP IT. You have a great gun. :)
I have no idea what it is worth, but it would be exspensive to replace when you figured out what a great gun you sold.

I agree, if you think you may someday want to shoot it and don't need the cash, KEEP IT! Reason I say that is it's a $15-1600 pistol, but the resale of used STI's on GB is usually in the $11-1200 range. You won't make a profit of of it. Besides, I have a personal rule: Don't sell heirlooms. Everyone I know that did has deeply regreted it later. Thats a piece your dad at one time enjoyed, and you will wish someday you hadn't sold it.

You can buy them new for about $1650, magazines are about $55 each, so you have about $1800 in new retail. $1500 is TOP dollar for one, $1300 is more reasonable and should sell reasonably fast at that price.
