I know its illegal to sell a ton of guns in MA,but what about other states. Can I order from a new hampshire dealer or go into the state, buy it,and bring it back?Just reading all of the legal BS makes my head hurt.I'm reading up on it right now,so I'm finding out new things by the minute.

Handguns would have to go to a FFL in your state for transfer. You can buy a long gun in any state (almost, I'll get to that) from a FFL only (not a private sale) as long as the transfer would not be in conflict with state laws. A NJ resident can go to PA and buy a long gun using their NJ Firearms ID card for identification. A PA resident (or resident of any state other than NJ) can't buy a long gun in NJ because NJ says no sales to out of state residents. There is no prohibition that prevents NJ residents from buying long guns in another state.

The federal law used to be you can buy long guns in contiguous (states that border the state the transfer will take place). Some states modified their laws to be in compliance with the federal law and when the law changed never changed their state law. I think AZ is one of these.

In summary, if your state doesn't say you can't buy long guns in other states and the state you want to buy the gun in doesn't have any law against it you can buy long guns. All handguns must go through a FFL in your state.

PS You can send any firearm to a FFL in any state.
