gunsmithing?

How does one get into gunsmithing? Like go to school and all. Everyone around here says there is no money in it but that doesnt matter to me. I just want the knowledge and skill. Ive searched the net and CANNOT find any schools here in kansas city that offer it. A little help please?
 
colorado will be your best bet, CST and trinidad are both pretty well known schools. I went to CST, and loved every minute of it.
