Has anyone tried the longgun vault that GunVault makes? They list on their website that it will only work with 870s and Mossberg 500s, but has anyone tried it with a winchester 1300 defender or otherwise? It's a neat idea and it'd be a way for me to get my HD shotgun a lot closer to me then it is now.

Here's a link for it

I have one and,,,,,,

ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT. To be honest, with the kid less than 2 weeks away, it is the only way I feel comfortable keeping a loaded shotgun underneath the bed. I don't have it bolted down to the floor with the supplied mounting plate but, I do have the motion sensor alarm on it armed at all times so, I know if it gets moved while I'm in the house. I didn't want to mount it because, if I needed it all I would have to do is pull it out from under the bed, punch in my access code and there you go. The gun is ready to go in three to five seconds. I'll post some detailed pics of it when I get a chance. I'm sorry I can't elaborate how it work for a winchester though.

Battery power is pretty much a non-issue.

Yes, it can run alone on just the batteries but, it also has an AC/DC outlet in the front that allows it to get it's power supply from the wall outlet while using the batteries as a back up. It cannot be used on AC/DC alone. It must have the batteries installed also.

I was just looking at this very same safe for my Moss 500A. It's to bad they don't have a model that allows a side saddle. Still seriously thinking this would be good for mounting in the closet or something along those lines.
