H&K LEM Triggers

What do you all think about H&K's LEM trigger???? Is it any good or does anyone own one of these types of pistols???? I held one at the show and the trigger is very smooth but extremely LONG. Is it hard to get the hang of a triiger like that??? I am think of getting it or the Springfield XD, any thoughts????

Don't care for it, myself. Been a professional Traditional Double Action user for too many years.

Of the LE folks I know who carry HK's, it seems the DA/SA variants are more popular.

Of course, I feel the same way about the Sig Sauer DAK, too. Just don't care for the longer reset/lighter, or the shorter reset/heavier DAO-type trigger strokes of that design. Perfer the original design.

When it comes to DAO actions in handguns, I really prefer my handguns to have a revolving cylinder in them.

Seriously, the Glock's Safe Action (constant DAO type) is the only one I've personally found which I don't mind using in a defensive handgun. I'm still on the fence regarding the MP series ... although I may get one in the next couple of months.

Other folks seem to like them well enough, though, and that's what it's all about.

I like it...I prefer the 5# version but both are very nice & intuitive plus with its double strike capability it's a nice ste-up.

I have the LEM variant on my issued/duty P2000 and my personally owned USPc and love them. I routinely max our quarterly quals. The trigger reset is shorter on the USP but the grip on the P2k is super. My first auto was a PPK that I bought new in 1967 and carried for most of the first 25 years that I owned it so I am thoroughly proficient with the da/sa mechanism. For a carry gun, not a hunting/target gun, I think that the LEM mod is excellent. By the way I'm also comfortable with 1911 platform guns having shot over 200k rounds through them. When I carry one it's condition 1. If you want an H&K to actually carry, then you won't go wrong with the LEM if you gain proficiency with it.

I recently got a P2000sk LEM in .40. It definitely took some getting used to, but I like it. The pull is long, but the reset is very short.

I have multiple examples, in 9 & 45. Big deal it has a long initial trigger pull, so do revolvers. Trigger control is trigger control whether it's double action or finely tuned 1911.

The LEM offers a pretty fast setup, no levers, short & positive reset, reasonable and adjustable trigger pull weight.

I never understand this. long compared to what, another LEM? What are you doing, comparing apples and oranges?

It may take some getting used to but i think the LEM is a great trigger - it all depends on what you like - its nothing like the glock trigger and I found it better then the DA/SA on guns like sigs or Berettas - Personally i like it much better then the traditional trigger on the HK pistols - the next HK i get will have the LEM - I find it to be just right for me - Then again i really like the trigger on the XD too - guess its all in what you like - I never had any problems with the one i had on my P2000 - however I would reccomend getting it reduced if you do get one - I have shot both the 8 and the 5 and the 5 was much easier to use.
