This gun seems to have disapeared from earth. Many years ago I had a H&R bolt action rifle in 222 Rem caliber,it was a real shooter.3/8" 5 SHOT GROUPS AT 100 YDS.It was actually a Sako small action without the integral scope mounts.I found an article once in a shooters bible mag,and they called it a Silver Streak model.Does anyone know of this gun?.I also seen on Gun Broker at one time the same gun but it was of Marlin mfg.

Sounds like you had either a Model 317 Ultra Wildcat or a Model 317P Presentation. Both were made 1968 - 1976.

The 222 Remington is my favorite rifle round. I have two Savage 340Bs, a Remington 722, and a T/C Contender barrel. Had all four out to the range on Friday with great results from all of them.

I had a Sako in .222. Wish I still had it. I do have my Sako in .222 Mag thank goodness.

I have a Win Model 70 with a bull barrel in .222 Remington Magnum.

The .222 Remington is fairly popular in France and ammo is available very easily. Not so for the Mag though.
But thankfully I do reload and do have a fair amount to feed it.

if you can't find that model again, i would also highly suggest the remmy 788 in 222. strongest bolt, and receiver, coupled with the fastest trigger lock time ever invented on a mass produced rifle.
