I have a two part question.

First off I need to know if there is a difference in the firing pin and hammer of an H & R Topper, model 88, & model 48. I don't have access to the gun today but would like to order the part if possible. I am not sure which it is.

Secondly, I need to find these two parts for which ever gun it may be. I have checked Midway, Numrich, and Brownells. I only found a pin for a model 48.

Before any one tells me don't bother the gun is cheap. I was wanting to fix it as a nastalgic gift to my father for christmas. It was his gun from when he was younger so I want to fix this one.

Any information regarding this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you

Those are the best kind of reasons for doing things like you're doing. I can't help with the Topper but I recently did my Grandfathers old double barrel .410. It was one of the Crescent Firearms progeny sold as a Mississippi Valley Arms. Anyway, it needed firing pins. The Numrich site listed them but didn't differentiate guages. Turns out all the firing pins made fit .410 up to 12 ga. I don't know what they want for hammers, etc for the Topper but in my case 20 bucks was worth the chance they would fit. Good luck with it.
