All they did was replace the swivel adapter. Just buy one of those. It's a $6.00 item. Probably if you send it to them they will replace it. They did not return my old one so I can not compare it.

Forget the whole modifying with a Dremel routine.

Why Jerry rig the thing? If it worked better that way they would have made it that way is my feeling.

I have never used the largest opening, only used it as a test because when I spoke with Dave on the phone he said it should completely cover the drop hole with any size disc from smallest to largest. It does that now.

Hmm, I did try my non-swivel adapter (which is pretty much brand new since I took it off and replaced it with the swivel version), and didn't see any difference. Wonder if something else is going on.

I remember a post about someone having this problem with .44 Mag (what I'm having the problem with), using Lee .44 Mag/Special dies, and Lee sent them a longer actuating tube (the thing that goes in the riser). Can't remember where I saw that though.

Taking out all the o-rings and the thin washer worked at first, as it basically had the effect of lowering everything down and lengthening the travel of the expander plug to actuate the drop, but now there's still not enough travel. I'll look at trying to take up the slop in the piece you've shown above when I get home.

Yes that is the same part only without the swivel or thumb nut. The lever goes through the notch and I guess (not having the old one) that's where it got chewed up.

I think I can see this chewed out groove you are talking about. It's on the top underside surface of the notch where the lever rides in the swivel. There's a bit of trench worn into the metal, like someone took a half round file to it.

Guess I'll order another swivel and see how that does.

One other thing. In the letter then sent me, he stated that he lubricated that spot and it should be done on a as needed basis. I always cleaned mine and dry lubed it but only where the screw and swivel is, I did not lube the notch area. I will now.

I just looked at the new one and if the lever grinds a groove in that that notch, that will change the whole lever action (not much) but allow to much play and that is what seems to prevent the disc from sliding all the way.

We are talking a fractions here but apparently it is just enough to screw it up.

Long story short, the new adapter fixes the problem. KIS principal.:D

I think that groove is what causes the "hitch" in the lever action I'm feeling. Like I said, if I don't attach the spring to the lever, the lever doesn't drop into the groove when it rotates forward, and you get more travel. If I attach the spring, or push on the front of the lever with my finger, it drops into the groove part of the way through the travel and reduces the throw.

Good catch, guys.
