BDC6D07D-A1E7-4789-854B-E877703D4A09.png There are 4 knives in this world that I am crazy about. They are, in order, toothpick, canoe, sharpfinger, ulu. Never, in my meandering flea markets, reading, and auction site browsing, have I stumbled across an AUTO toothpick. I went into a frenzy of trying to get in touch with the seller, but no luck for me. So, now I have an entirely new item to chase.

I feel like a hundred bucks might have been a good price. Seems the specimens online have asking prices well north of that number.

I had an auto one with plain steel grips made by Sure-Snap, but gave it to a friend who coveted it.

Nice slim carry knife.

I remember hanging cards of knives like that in my local candy store as a kid in the Bronx in the 50's. Also remember the older kids standing in front of the building playing with them.

Thanks for digging that up!

OK its in sad shape but here is the one I posted a few years back along with another then cheapy.

My son was being forced to read "The Outsiders" at school and since I read any books my kids are assigned I had it inflicted on me. I actually took these knives into my son's small private school with permission of the English teacher and principal.

The teacher asked me why I had knives like teen semi deliquents had in an small rural town in Oklahoma in 1971 in the book.....I explained that being a high schooler in a small rural Florida (real Florida not that tourist stuff) town in 1971 was much like the book as well. I did not really care for the book.

Got the black one from a bud and the knife this post is about from an Uncle.

Over Thanksgiving a friend asked me to clean up her late Grandfather's old knife. From the looks of it it is a fixed blade Hammer brand that looks like a folder.
If I can figure out how to post a picture I'll start a new thread. Neat little knife.
