I have several handguns ranging from 3.6" to 5" barrels. I have two cleaning rods I use. One is too short for all but one gun, and the other is way too long--12".

I've tried to find a 5" or 6" brass, aluminum or other (non-steel) rod. When you screw on an eyelet or brush it adds an extra inch or more to the length. It just needs to be long enough for the rod tip to pass the end of the barrel.

That plastic one that comes with the CZs is a good length, but I want swivel and tip options.

I've searched the likely gun supply places on the net , local stores, Hoppes and others with no luck.

Does anyone know where a 'Pistol Length' 5" or 6" cleaning rod can be found??

Thanks

Thanks Dan. I'll check it out.

It's funny, my car can break down and okay get it fixed; but this LOOOOONG pistol cleaning rod was P^$$^@& me off. :fire:

Dewey has one at 6.5"--good enough. Thanks again.

gwnorth: I already have many brushes, eyelets, jags and mops---all male threads. I found no short rods (9mm+ use) available from the Dewey site other than in complete kits without swivel function. Maybe I didn't search properly/missed it..

Dewey sucks, in that they use a wierd size thread on all the tips & brushes.
You can't get replacement brushes at Wallyworld I betcha!

Check out Kleen-Bore's 9" rod:

And this one:
The Kleen-Bore PocKit has been discontinued, but still found at gun shows, and online.

The first rod section with muzzle guard, cleans 2” to 5” barrels including most semi-automatics.
Add the second section for barrels up to 8 3/8”.
The whole thing stores in the hollow handle.

Just buy the adapter(s) for a couple of bucks and they work great with anything on the end. They certainly do not suck, not the one piece brass rods (in the Gun Cleaning Rods, Handgun and Specialty Rifle Rods part of the company web site). Best handgun cleaning rods I've ever used.
