Has anyone installed a small handgun safe in there car or truck.
Where did you put it and how did you bolt it in?
Also if anyone has done this could you recommend a safe and type of prices. Maybe even a web site. Thanks!drf

Amsec (american security) makes a safe, the PB-48 (http://www.amsecusa.com/hand-gun-safes.htm) that can be bolted to the floor of the trunk.

Its not cheap but it is pretty well made. Simplex style mechanical lock - no batteries to melt or wear out from heat, no key to forget.

Keep in mind that a crow bar and some time and the thing can be opened, so its really just a good way for lawful transport of guns only and tucking it behind something might help keep the guns safe from the smash and grabbers. You may want to tack weld the nuts or round them off or something just to make a little more trouble for them.

Fits one, maybe two handguns.

If you have an SUV or pickup, more of a problem. Might be able to get that under the seat . . . .

There are other companies, like stack on that make similar handgun safes that could also be mounted - http://www.stack-on.com/securityplus/pistol_ammo/index.html

For SUV's, vans or pickups, I highly recommend Truckvault (http://www.truckvault.com/). They have quite a wide range of suitable products. I particularly like their under-seat Seatvault for pickups:
