Since I join last year my collection has grown from 1964 mark1 standard ruger. S&W pre-model 10 38sp 4". Hi-point c9. Henry .22 Survival Rifle.
I joined a local shooting range and I have been shooting at least twice a month, funds allowing.I have picked up the usual gun care items and put locks on my filing cabinet to keep ammo and guns secure.
I have recognised I am infected. As logic tells me I have few not several decades of active life left, I have decided on my firearm bucket list.
1/ as soon as funds allow buy and install a 6-8 rifle gun cabinet, so firearms are more secure.
2/complete CWP paperwork and ensure I keep up with rule changes.
3/find a good used. 22 rifle and practise until I am good enough to safetly try small game day hunts.
4/figure out what size shotgun I need to do same.
5/ decide on my concealed carry weapon...leaning toward. 22mag revolver. The old body doesn't need more weight to drag around. too much and I can see it would not be everyday carry. Too big and I may get cocky. Looking for last ditch I would rather not overact and destroy people's lives over an oops. At sametime in real life or death I don't want to be cheap target. Someone will pay fullprice for me or my loved ones.
6/ like to try a hog hunt, maybe. but certainly smallgame hunts, has to be better than chasing small white balls all over the fields.
My bride of 37 years has already approved in general of the game plan. Just try to keep budget modest.

Spending lots of dollars is sometimes fun but with judicial use of your available cash you can still smile a lot without going broke. Welcome to the fold.
