where else? TN.
I'm considering ordering a couple of guns from them, but I need some good old fashioned testimony before I order online.

Usually, it's not too hard to find online reviews, but I can't find any about these folks. They seem to be a pretty big distributor so this seems strange.

I'd love to hear some first hand experience from my fellow THRers.

In the last two years I've purchased two rifles and a pistol from them. They were very pleasant on the phone, shipping was very fast, and they had good prices. I will buy from them again.

Alright, good to hear. Thanks for the feedback.

Their site makes them seem to be a larger reputable dealer like Bud's or Impact Guns, but not being able to find any reviews made me somewhat weary. As long as I don't hear any horror stories, they just might be sending me a new G20 and a Ruger SP101.

I have never had any success with them and have canceled several orders after waiting for weeks for something they advertised as being in stock. They are pleasant on the phone but can't offer a clue as to when they will ship you the weapon you ordered.

I would rather go to Buds or Gunbroker and be assured of getting what you are paying. Others experience may be different but that has happened to me twice and so I don't deal with them anymore.

^^^ From that thread as of yesterday....

Well, I guess that solves this:

Thanks man. Luckily Bud's happened to get the other one of the two guns I was wanting, so I can do it on the same order (which was the reason I considered thegunsource.com).

Thanks though.

BTW MODS: Feel free to close this. I got my answer and the other thread is probably more useful....

Do a web search and you will find numerous complaints pointing to one conclusion:

They routinely list items that are not in stock, stating boldly that they are in stock, then charging cancellation fees to frustrated buyers tired of waiting indefinitely for their orders.

I did a bit more checking. BBB lists them as a D- company.

The BBB is not exactly a shining example of business ethics.

It looks like first hand experiences on these two threads have given you what you need to know though.

This place pisses me off! I just got off the phone with them after cancelling my order. Ordered early February a rifle that was "In stock" according to who I spoke to on the phone.

Never heard anything so used their web contact page to ask what was up. Was told it was backordered but my card would not be charged until it was in stock. 6 days later my card was charged so I assumed it would be shipping. Nope. When I asked on the same webpage, I was told that my card was charged but it is not available(contradicting to what was said directly above that). I explained what was written right above and asked what the heck? Was then told that that statement was only for back orders and mine was not a back order. I called and it was a back order. I said screw that cancel my order.

You can read their contradicting statements here:

The place is a joke and a scam in my mind. I won't be surprised if I have CC problems after dealing with them. Don't risk it!

I too got scammed by their "in stock" ads and after I realized what was up I decided to cancel. I got a bit of a run-around and was concerned that I'd be hit with some bogus cancellation fee until I finally dealt with Alicia Kozlowski who cordially canceled my order with no penalties or fees. You might try contacting her is she's not who you've been dealing with.

They obviously make an ongoing business practice of posting "in stock" low prices then wait until a deal comes up so they can fill the order at a profit. It's annoying and unethical and probably illegal (false advertising).

If you get no satisfaction file a complaint with their state's BBB, and maybe it's time someone went to the FBI's online website and filed a complaint there. If they enter an investigation it should really shake them up.

"The BBB is not exactly a shining example of business ethics."

My experience from filing a complaint with BBB is that they are more interested in protecting their members than the public.

I went through the same thing when I ordered some mags. Their web site said they were in stock when I ordered. They hit my credit card the day after I placed the order. After getting weeks of run-around, I finally cancelled the order after I made the discovery that they already had taken my money, with no clue as to if or when they might ship my order. All the while, the web site still said the mags in question were in stock. When you request a refund from WalMart or Target, it shows up in your account the next day. It took these guys almost a week to make it happen. Stay away.

Same for me. Ordered some mag.s in stock. Got charged, no mag.s No phone calls. No E-mail returned. After someone did return a call got some wild story that didn't jive with E-mail I received the following day! Had to call bank & State AG OFFICE. I WILL NEVER DO ANY THING With them Agin! WATCH-OUT! THEY CHANGE NAME every so often!

Bad -- ordered a hat and teeshirt three months ago. After two months, I contacted them and complained, they said to wait a week or two. I tried to contact them today, but they are not accepting emails or phone calls. Not big dollars, but pretty annoying. Recommend that you forget about them and use a reputable supplier!

If you order with a credit card then all you have to do is deny the charge with your CC company because the seller did not hold up their end of the agreement. The cc company will contact the seller and give them the opportunity to refute your claim but you will NOT have to pay that money unless you are satisfied with the transaction. I have had to do this with a couple of purchases but I had backup to prove to my CC company that the seller did not hold up their end of the contract. I think you have 30 days from the date the charge shows on your account but that could be incorrect. This is why I always buy things with a credit card rather than a debit card or money order. If they, assuming it is a real business, will not take a credit card then they probably have issues I don't want to deal with.

Wow.

I just went to the site and they have nothing in stock. I looked at pistols, rifles, archery, clearance and ammo. Everything showed out of stock.

Apparently I have more in stock at my house than they do at their business. And I do not take credit cards.
