Has anyone bump-fired an AK with an RSA trigger?

I used to occasionally bump-fire my SAR-1 when it had the original Century trigger - BEFORE it developed trigger slap! It was no problem to empty the entire mag if I wanted to. But the onset of trigger slap caused me to install an RSA trigger.

MY new RSA trigger is GREAT! It's a two-stage pull with a setting as light as I dare to go.

I decided to try to bump fire it (it had been a while!) and now it will fire 2 rounds then stop. I'll try again and it will fire two rounds again and stop.

Any ideas or suggestions???

Maybe the trigger is so light that it is releasing the hammer before the bolt closes completely in battery? My RRA AR15 with 2 stage NM trigger would do the same thing when I tried to bump fire it. The super light trigger would actually bump so fast that the hammer would release and follow the carrier and not have enough force to ignite the round.

It would go ba-ba-bang and then nothing. The hammer would be down on a closed bolt with a live round in the chamber.

The hammer following the bolt home onto a loaded chamber scares me.

If the gun was NFA with the full-auto disconnector bits, I'm sure it would be ok. Without the above bits, I'd be leery of an out-of-battery discharge, and those ain't fun.

Not that bump-firing an AK is a good way to maintain positive control on a firearm, anyway...

Hmm, I have the same problem when I try to bump my SU-16. The most I can get is 2 or 3 rounds and then it stops. I usually find a live round in the chamber, but I've never bothered to check to see if it had a dented primer. They'd always fire on the second try, though.

The trigger on my rifle is pretty crisp, but I have no way of measuring how much force it requires to trip. Maybe the rifle itself is just too light?
