Has anyone noticed some guns suppress better than others?

Specifically, I've got an Octane 45 HD that I've used on my Glock 21 & SiG TACOPS 45. Week before last I ordered a booster for my HK Mark 23 & I already had one for my Tactical 45.

To the point, today I finally had time to take them out and it seemed to suppress the HK's better than the others ... same ammo, similar barrel lengths and pretty much the same conditions.

The TACOPS barrel is about 5-3/4", the Glock barrel (Lone Wolf) is about 5-1/8", the HK Tactical is about 5-1/4 and the HK Mark 23 is 5-7/8" ... and of course the frames on the HK's & Glock are polymer and the TACOPS is alloy.

The HK's seemed much quieter. I don't have a decibel meter so I can't say how much quieter, but has anyone else noticed this on suppressors they've used on different hosts?

I think you've found the difference between a pistol with a threaded barrel added after the fact, and a factory built pistol that has been specifically tuned for optimal results while suppressed. Your MK23 and USP-T were designed to run suppressed. It is my understanding that they use different recoil spring assemblies for those models vs. the standard USP. Lots of chatter on HKPro about this in the past few years.

I transformed a G19 into a dedicated suppressor host. I had to go to a Wolf recoil spring setup with a heavier poundage spring for the sake of reliabity and decreasing gas blowback to the face. I need to do the same with my SIG 239 to try and address the same symptoms. Therein lies the beauty of the HK Tactical series.
