Just giving credit for great service. I purchased my first set of Hornady dies from a somewhat questionable online retailer. Was unhappy with my Lee 357 sig dies, decided to try a set of Hornadys. They came in a sealed box, opened the box and had sizer ( these do not have the Titanium nitride ring by the way), expander and a seating die body, no internal parts! Contacted the seller, his reply was ship it back at your expense and we will ship another. At that point I contacted Hornady via their website, within a few hours I received a reply stating they would send me all the missing parts at no charge and an apology for my trouble. That was yesterday, I received the shipping notice today! Thanks, Hornady you have a new customer.

On thing I have found over the years is that the Reloading Tool Companies
seem to go by the "Old Code" of doing business!!!

I have never had any type of trouble getting things fixed, replaced, except for one company that really surprised me with their attitude.

But all in all, the others have been very helpful even when I have told them it was my fault that the part broke, they just say to give them my address and the part will be on it's way...No Charge...!!! WoW:eek:

RCBS and Redding have been especially generous and helpful..!!!

That die set has the sliding sleeve in the seating die ... right? After you get a chance to use it some I'd like to ask you how you like that part of it ... my RCBS is a little finicky about getting the bullet to set straight and you can pinch fingers trying to hold the bullet long enough to get them in correctly...

Here is a link with a little more about the seating die ... http://www.realguns.com/archives/077.htm

Thats true Don, I wish everyone did business the "old way". My wife laughed at me yesterday when I was contacting an electronics equipment manufacturer because the guitar effects processor I bought from them 15 yrs ago quit working. She said "doubt they'll help you...I said "they will if they're anything like the handloading companies my fellow THRians and I deal with all the time".

They didnt help. Gave me the run around and then finally just said they couldn't help me. "Thanks a bunch" :(

Potatohead, the only other company that seems to be as good as the reloading tool companies is Snap-On that I know of, there may be others.
I wrote Snap-On an email about a 1/4" drive ratchet I bought about 25-30 years ago that broke.
They just said to give model number, but found out it was obsolete. They said they would send me a NEW one ASAP..!! ( No phone call, no pics, no nuttin )
Fedex brought it in about 3 days to my door.:D

Kind of like Dillon, they don't want to hear a story, just tell them what you need to make you happy..!!! :)

I will ALWAYS buy from these companies.

Yes Jimkirk the seater is one of the problems I am trying to remedy on the 357 sig. Little to no neck expansion makes for a picky seating operation, plus the Hornady sizes better, smoother and die gets closer to the shellplate. I'll let you know how it works. Dillon has a wider mouth on the seating die, but an ungodly price tag on their 357 sig dies!

Bamashooter:
Don't forget about Redding dies, not sure if that will fix your problem. But they are very well made and they stand behind their products.
Plus, they are higher than most, but your paying for quality and you'll have them forever too....:D

I don't have any problem with the RCBS sizing die, but I do run the cases through a Redding G-Rx die(not to remove the any bulged brass... I trash that). I don't have a carbide 40 S&W die yet(my son just got a 40 pistol) ... I lube with One Shot in a Ziploc bag and then run through the steel 357 SIG RCBS die ... really don't have any problem with the seater except my old fingers don't move out of the way as they should...

Hornady seating die update

JimKirk I have received the parts for the seater as well as a really nice free hat from Hornady and after setting it all up I have to say I wish all of my seaters had the sliding sleeves like this one! If you get the bullet even close to straight just pull the handle and the die handles the rest with no problem. IMO if you are loading 357 Sig the small difference in price between the Hornady vs. the Lee is well worth it, both the Sizer and Seater work much better for me. Can't say on the expander I expand during the powder drop on my Dillon. I am still using the Lee bottleneck crimp die to minimize setback issues and it does a good job. I am not bashing Lee, just relating my experience.

Hornady is a great company. I use several of their products. Love the seating dies but hate their rifle sizing dies. They use a three fingered collet to hold the expander button stem in place. No matter how tight I crank down that collet it still slides. But I love my beam scale.

I have a lot of "mixed" die sets.

Reloading companies have some of the best customer service out there.
