Have ammo prices finally come back down to Earth?

In private gun stores around West Michigan, 45 acp is more than twenty dollars a box. 9mm is at least 14 a box for basic 115 grain.

Don't know how that stacks up to other locations.

Prices coming down? Yes and no. Some of you have already listed some OK deals. Others have remained stubbornly elevated. I watch my favorite ammo for comparison to then and now, like SK Standard Plus....then: $5-$6...now $8.+, Hornady 17HMR brick...then: $80-$105, now: $150 -$180. I could list others. 30-30 still ridiculous

Every caliber that's not .22, 9, 40, 45, 38, 223, 308, and 12 is going to remain high. The only reason 10mm is decent is because after the ammo companies do a run of .40, they don't have to do much work to changeover to 10mm.

Rifle calibers are clearly much different than handguns. 100 rds is almost standard for a range trip with a pistol, but 100 rds with a rifle is like two or three.

Maybe we are going into an era where the lever action and bolt action calibers are becoming antiquated and replaced by the AR calibers like .300 Black, .350 Legend, and .450 Bushmaster.

I hadn't seen .357 mag this good in quite awhile, from Target Sports. It's Hungarian but brass case, boxer primed FMJ will work for range use. Joe
