Huh, thats not a half bad idea. I was thinking PVC, but copper should be doable.

It would be interesting to see a copper scabbard.

I suppose you could buy some oval shaped copper pipe. Then shape it to fit the blade.

I was thinking thinner tubing stock. It is easy to form.

I was thinking Kydex too, but Id probably have to rivet multiple sheets together.

It shouldn't be too hard to find a scabbard for a 34-1/2 - 36" straight blade like a Puerto Seguro.
There's a lot of junky fantasy blades out there that have adequate scabbards.
