Sorry: misread the holster topic title-please transfer.
Having only worn a single type (Bianchi leather IWB), a few times while walking around the neighborhood at night. Just for practice, with the WW2 Sauer 38H. Acquired my first CCW (TN) a year ago.

It's very hard to evaluate and compare various makes of holsters, when I see all of them packaged at Academy etc. The only type tried on was a paddle OWB, allowed by a hospitable retired Navy Master Chief on staff at Academy.

Just watched the video about Remora, on their website. Nothing is specified as being designed for my Sig 232 (Russian Mak, Polish P-83).
5'11", 180 lbs., most of the obvious extra weight is for the candy bars in my belly. Remora looks interesting. :scrutiny:
How would you compare for OWB as a Lefty at 10 o'clock position for a compact handgun?

I didn't like it. I found it got sweaty, and wasn't as immobile as they want you to think.

When I was trying the Remora I was carrying IWB in a MacDaniel II, or a Galco. Both have belt clips, and both go behind the hip. I liked both better than the Remora. I have since transitioned to OWB, 8:00 (or so) carry for like 90% of my time and wardrobe. It's so much more comfortable and not hard to conceal at all.

I still have the remora I tried, but even when I go back to IWB, it's not the holster I choose. It just sits in The Box 'o Holsters.

I've had good success with a Remora carrying a Bersa Thunder .380. Seems to stay in place well. You DO have to find the right spot!

The idea is cool and seems like it would be pretty convenient. However, I'm not very comfortable with carrying any holster that does not clip on to something. I'm sure it would be fine with something like a keltec or LCP, anything above those in weight and size, I want clips / loops and a good belt.

I like Remora as a company, but I've never had luck with their holsters. They do not stay put for me.

They work for some however and I believe they're having a sale at this very moment. For the price, they're worth a try.

They make an IWB with a clip. I got one for my S&W4566, it's a 3lb gun and the few times I've tried the holster it stayed put. IWB isn't my first choice in carry but so far the Remora seems legit to me.

I have several Remora's for different guns. For me they move around too much, but are good pocket holsters. Get a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake. It works R or L, OWB, or IWB with the optional straps. Very comfortable.

Holsters are unique to each person in the extreme. What works great for you may be miserable for me. You just have to experiment.

Remora works awesome for me. I use it for Glock 26. I don't like to wear a belt and I needed a holster that was easy on, easy off quickly. I have just enough room in my pants for the 26 and Remora without being uncomfortable, but snug enough that a belt is not needed. The Remora sticks like glue wherever I place it on me. Works awesome for me, but YMMV.

I used Remora for a while, had about 4 different kinds trying to find what worked best.

in the end, I found that to keep it truely in place, my belt had to be so tight it hurt after a couple hours. if i loosened it a notch, it would move and wiggle, start at 9:30 and move to 10:30 by the end of the day, often times sinking a little too deep to get a draw. the one i have with the leather lining would come out with the pistol when drawing.

Im a much larger fellow, and maybe that has sometime to do with it. I have a good leather gun belt if that matters. in the end, I on occasion use them as pocket holsters. thats about it. I keep them because if i ever loose the weight, I will try them out again.

I've got one for a Glock 23 sized pistol. Like it fine and it's comfortable. Goes to church with me every Sunday and it stays in place. Don't know if it would work so well for activities more strenuous than singing in the choir.

It's an OK holster for a quick grab&go.

It doesn't always stay put. A good belt is a must. Even worse, it gives me back pains if I carry it a lot, due to it being so thick. My EDC is a G26, so with a thinner gun it would be likely less of a PITA. But at the same time, it's cheap, it's perfect for a short trip, it's very easy to put it in a glove box when getting in a car and put back in when leaving it, and it works well as a pocket holster so I'd say go for it as your 2nd or xxth holster - but not your main holster.

I carried in a Galco Kingtuk IWB and it's fine, but I am gravitating towards OWB - I've been carrying on several occasions in Glock Sports holster and the difference in comfort is night and day. Even though Galco is not that bad itself, but I find that nothing, and I mean nothing, beats the comfort of OWB.
