thank you guys for your replies to my thread on my 30-40 kraig but do any of you know were i can find some dies to reload some rounds for this 30-40:confused:

Hey josefidelity,

I am still using the same Lyman 30-40 Krag two die set I bought in the early 1960s. It was the first die set I ever bought, and, shortly after I started loading the 30-40, I bought my first Lyman mould blocks and handles. It was a two cavity mould that cast 150 grain Loverin design bullets in 30 caliber for my Krag. Later, I would find that 30 caliber cast bullet would work well in almost every 30 caliber rifle I ever tried. Before too many years went by, I found I had purchased many more die sets for many more cartridges and many more mould blocks. I have enjoyed it all these years, and I wish you the same.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile

I'm using the set of RCBS dies my grandfather bought in the late 70's. My brother inherited my grandfather's Krag upon his passing several years ago. My brother asked if I would load the old brass he has. I agreed. Some of this brass is still labeled 30 USA. I didn't load that, but instead bought some new stuff from Midway. I can't wait to shoot it.
