HELP--ID on this rifle??

Purchased a rifle the other day, and short of the fact that its a "shooter", don't know much about it.
.243--24" barrel--mauser action--has a beautiful walnut stock with rose wood cap and tip.
Marked Sears-Heritage M IV Supreme
On the action is a series of #'s starting with a "Z"
With a Leupold 4x12x40, this thing shot a .623 and a .591 on the last two groups. The barrel is floated, and action has been bedded. I guess what I'm asking is--Does anyone know when these rifles were manufactured, and by whom. Thanks

In the 1950s and 1960s Sears sold rifles built on FN Mauser actions with barrels and stocks by High Standard. I never saw one that fancy, though. Perhaps it has been dressed up later in life. Sounds like a great shooter and a real keeper.
 
Pictures? it's a little hard to guess accurately from your description.

Ok, back on line. Nothing on action would indicate "made in Spain". I,m out of town right now, and won't be back for a week. Will post pics when I get back. If it helps any --the stock looks exactally like the stock on my Whitworth--high roll over comb, white spacer between butt and red rubber recoil pad, exaggerated pistol grip area.
 
You may need to remove the action from the stock to identify. Other rifles of the same model are made in Spain, as Runningman mentioned, and are the Santa Barbara Mauser style actions, with adjustable trigger. They seem to be quite accurate as a rule.
No info on when made, late 60's, early 70's maybe.

if all else fails, remove it from the stock and draw out what the proof marks look like, then go check them out online. at very least, you'll find out where it was mfgd.
