Hello all,
I have a second firearm that I would love some information on. I've posted once before with an old .38 S&W and was blown away by how helpful and knowledgeable everyone was.

I've taken pictures ahead of time on this one too :D

I was recently given a German made handgun from my godmother who said her late husband's brother gave it to him some time ago. She believed he got it in Germany during WW2 since he was fighting the Germans and my godfather was fighting the Japanese. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if she was mistaken. It happens.

Anyway here it is. Writings are as follows:

Right side: MADE IN GERMANY on barrel and the ROHM symbol on handle.

Left side: ROHM RG3 on barrel and RG3 on handle.

Nothing else that I can tell. No serial # either.

Note: This gun has been plugged so as not to fire, not sure when/where/why or if it can be reversed.

Any info is greatly appreciated, I will be checking back for a few hours if you need any other info from me. Thanks again.

P.S. The Ipod is for scale, sorry the only thing I had at hand lol.

Actually, it would be pre-war (or very recent) since it's "Made in Germany" rather than "Made in West Germany". But still not worth much.

There are very few records on production dates of Rohm firearms. If I had to guess the age I would say late 1920's until 1940's. Prior to WW II Blank and Tear Gas guns were the only firearms Rohm sold { To the BOMK }. Value would be minimal, perhaps 25 dollars to a collector of such items. Even prior to WWII there were very strict gun laws in place in Germany, many everyday citizens carried Tear gas and blank guns for protection. They are effective from a very short distance, at least effective enough to be able to run like hell to safety { used to own one in a past life }.:) As noted, yours was an import to the states.

Well that's interesting. I'm still glad to have a piece of history however minor. Appreciate the feedback everyone.
