Can you help me identify what kind of wallet holster this is? It is commercial made but I can not find any kind of Manufacture's marking. Before anyone posts - Yes I know this is an AOW item.

Do you mean as in "Who made it?" or as in "What does it fit?"? It looks to me like it would fit a High Standard Derringer, but if it's any sort of a custom or production item past home-made, there should be some sort of a maker's stamp on the inside. The carrier for 2 spare rounds inside is sort of neat.

I agree it is probably for a Hi-Standard .22 Mag derringer.
I think it is a one-of, and probably made by a leather craftsman with no knowledge of Federal Firearms laws.

I know you know, but for others reading this who don't know!
Be aware that any type of shoot-through holster wallet that completely covers the gun and is not "readily discernible as a weapon" is illegal under Federal Law.

If you put a gun in it, the gun & holster become an AOW, or "Any Other Weapon" and would require a tax stamp & registration from the ATF.

Definitely a tax-stamp deal. Found a pic of it on the ATF web site..

I am quite sure it was commercially made. The cut-outs and the basket weave design were both machine stamped. I am guessing that this was made at least 30-40 years ago. The lack of a maker's logo has me stumped though.

I believe you are both correct about it being for a High Standard derringer. An internet search turned up this pic. Looks identical.

Thanks for the clarification on the AOW. You said it much better than I could have.
