Happy New Year!

I am trying to identify the handgun in the attached picture. Sorry for such a poor pic, but it is all my buddy was able to provide me.

Note: Yes, I know the finger is on the trigger - poor discipline. I've already talked to him about that.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It looks like it may be a makarov or clone of some kind. It might possibly be a Bersa.

I'd have to see a much better picture than what is there to positively identify it.

Any markings on the firearm would help a great deal as well.
Also we do have a firearms research section under Tools and Technology.

From that pic I can make out that its an auto that's uh, black, with a chamber, and a hammer.

Some greater context would help. Where was this pictures taken from, and why is the resolution so low?

Of all the bad pics I've seen asking a forum to identify a gun, that one takes the cake...

Tell your buddy to try again.

Hard to say. Personally, I think it strongly resembles a Polish P64 (the rear sight, especially), but at that angle, size and image quality, I can't be certain.

If I had to guess, that would have to be the P64.

Definitely not a Glock, Walther P38/P1, Luger, or Mauser Broomhandle ;) Hope this helps...

Seriously - this is not a good photo.

That's like asking what kind of dog is this. ;)
We need a little info or a better pic.

That's a picture of the very rare Peetlefarb 1907

Chambered in 8.4mm, it holds 9 reverse bottle neck cartridges, plus one in the chamber.

Your buddy has gold right there!

seriously OP we need more, is this a screen cap from a movie? Is your friend the worst photographer in the world?:p Seriously though I stick by it is a cz-52 the grip angle and angle of the front of the frame makes me think that.

First, without going into how poor the pic is.

I cannot tell you what it is, but I can tell you what it isn't, It is NOT a cz52, I have mine right in front of me right now, at the angle that the gun is being held, if it were a cz52 you would not be able to see the ejection port, as it is on the side of the slide not on the top.
