First, feel free to point me to good search terms, I wasn't having much luck getting what I was looking for using "search"...

Now, the question: I'm 6'-6'1" and weigh around 150lbs soaking wet, which surprises most people...seems I weigh more than folks think...I could post a picture of myself, but that's unnecessary: I'm built like a stick; that should give you the picture, no hips, no chest, etc.

I wear pants that fit. Not too tight, but certainly not baggy (picture Wrangler regular fit...32/32 or 32/34.) Most of my tee-shirts are size medium, with a few larges tossed in (mostly long-sleeved since medium sleeves look like a 3/4 sleeve football jersey on my monkey arms) mostly worn untucked.

How do I get my PT745 to hide? Feel free to suggest specific holsters or placement. Right now I've had the best luck with off the shelf Don Hume IWB around 4 o'clock (specifically PM...AM just doesn't work for me :neener: ) but I still can't bend over worth a poop without saying "hey, look at this thing"

I'm not opposed to going to mostly collared shirts if that would help (my dad owns a men's clothing store, so he'd actually be happy about me wearing more stuff he sells.)

Thanks in advance.

www.kramerleather.com Look at IWB holsters. Or talk to The Naked Prophet. I'm a bit shorter then you by about...Well, I'm 5' 7" and a bit skinny too. I carry IWB for both of my CCW's. In the summer I get away with just a T-shirt and a sports shirt not buttoned (ya gotta watch the wind though). I do carry a rather compact 9mm X 19 (Firestar M43) at 4:00. I also try not to bend over, rather bend at the knees and have my back away from people though I doubt that they would notice anyway unless they carry too.

You don't want to bend at the waist. Bend your knees instead, keeping your back as straight as possible as you lower yourself to the ground. And what is being exposed? Does your shirt ride up clear over the butt, or is it just the bottom of the holster showing? The holster bottom problem can be largely solved by going to IWB carry. It is possible that your shirts might be a little short, too. If you want to reach up for something (e.g., something high up on a store shelf), use your opposite arm.

The bending at the knees rather than the waist part I'm getting used to, it's more like leaning forward when sitting, etc that is still tripping me up.

For the record, I'm carrying around the house only right now trying to get used to when/where/what I can do w/out problems, and that's what I'm basing this on, so I know that if I'm carrying LOOKING for times when I'm printing or showing, it might be exaggerated BECAUSE I'm looking for it. As for why around the house: a.) it makes me more comfortable, and b.) I'm still waiting on my permit (waited 21 years w/out breaking that law, figure I can handle another 45 days max.)

Thunderwear doesn't seem like it would really "hold" or "support" the gun very well, am I wrong about that?

I'm skinny, too. Except when I'm on lots of Prednisone.

A good, sturdy belt is a necessity. Not just a "thicker than usual" belt from the department store, but one made to actually carry a gun. Lots of folks here recommend the Beltman. I've never used his product, so I can speak to it. I've used RafterS products, and his belts are a great value for folks on a budget.

A good, sturdy holster helps. A pancake style holster will hug your body the tightest, and spread the weight out along as much of the belt as possible.

Don't expect to get it right on the first pass. Hardly anyone does. But unless you want to end up with a box full of discarded and unused holsters, by quality first.

Good luck.
