Help me choose a caliber.

After accidentally finding an extremely accurate light load for my .30-06. I'm guessing its a 150gr bullet going ~2600fps that my wife comfortably shot and said "it kicks like my .243" I'll give her the .30-06 if she wants to shoot a larger bullet.

I'll load the 7mm08 as fast as I can accurately push it with a 120gr NBT.

OP,

In one of your posts you say you want to push a 7mm 120 grain Nosler BT to about 2800 fps out of a 7mm-08 as long as it is accurate.

Just to give you a reference point, my 7mm-08 load for a Sierra 120 grain Pro Hunter (flat base) bullet over BL-C(2) goes about 3050 fps out of a 24" barrel. This is using Hodgdon data at near (but below) max load. My accuracy standard is a 3 shot group at 100 yards and a quarter coin touches or covers all three shots. This load meets that criterion.

You should be able to easily achieve or exceed your goal. I'm sure other loaders have even faster and more accurate loads than mine. BL-C(2) is certainly not one of the new wonder powders and I don't push past max published loads.

Good luck.

Dan
