Someone on this forum either has or used to have in their signature a quote that basically said:

'The most dangerous man is not the thief but a man that is trying to help you. A thief's greed is limited by a full belly or when he's stolen the last shirt off your back. An aggressive righteous man will not be satisfied until he has saved you and everyone you know'

I'm horribly botching the quote. But that's the gist of it. It was in someone's signature on this forum, struck me hard and it's really bugging me that I can't find it. It's so true when you apply it the anti-gunners that are trying to disarm us for our own "safety".

Any help finding this quote would be appreciated.

Thanks

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. Treat me with benign neglect.

C. S. Lewis

One of my favorite authors, by the way. Most well known for his "Chronicles of Narnia" childrens books, but those comprise a small fraction of his work and much of it is aimed at scholars and thinkers. Most of his worl would hardly be a good choice for "light reading".
