I spent a ton of money with this "gunsmith" on this pistol (see link) and it wont run for squat. It looks cool- won't shoot. This thing will not feed reliably for an entire magazine. I bought two magazines thinking they might be the problem but still no luck. It seems like the round hangs in the top of the barrel sometimes and wont chamber. Most of the time I can barely pull back the slide and it goes right in the chamber. I'm pretty disgusted with this after spending $2300 for a gun that wont work. I took it back to the guy twice but he says there's nothing wrong with it even though its obvious there is something. Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this thing before i go crazy. :banghead:

He's not on the Gunsmith forum now because of a move to a new home, but when you can, I would get in touch with 1911Tuner and get his advice.

Well, if it were a .45 I would list the usual suspects:
Extractor fit or shape. (dead common)
Sharp edge on chamber mouth. (dead common)
Undersize chamber. (common)
Irregular frame ramp. (found one on a gun of mine last year)
Rough or narrow breechface. (heard of, not seen)

Since it is a 10mm I would be guessing but would add:
Wrong frame ramp. (they do differ by calibre)
Shallow barrel ramp. (giving up feeding for casehead support in case you routinely overload your ammo)
Extractor needs different treatment than .45. (as does 9mm/.38)

Or there might be some esoteric fault in the "timing" of the action.

For that kind of money, I'd be looking for an established reputable gunsmith who didn't mind cleaning up after somebody else.

I've tried several types/brands of rounds. Doesnt matter really which one I use they all seem to do the same thing whether they're FMJ or JHP.
