My wife is doing a paper for school and her thesis is "Law abiding gun owners can be very effective in deterring crime". I know this stuff has been gone over before here, but my searches didn't turn up much that was useful. What we need are links to sights with:
-Statistics for guns used effectively in preventing/stopping a home invasion or violent crime.
-stats state by state and/or county by county showing gun owner to violent crime ratios
-text interviews with people who have used guns in self/property defense
-text interviews with police who've witnessed guns used effectively in preventing/stopping a crime.
-text interviews with criminals who have either not comitted a crime or stopped in the middle of a crime because they were faced with or feared an armed potential victim.
This is yet another opportunity to change peoples views on guns as tools of the criminal. Any and all help is appreciated, as my schedule for the next few weeks is quite busy. Thanks.
