help request- targets for sighting in rifles
I am interested in making some simple targets of my own for sighting in rifles/scopes.
Does anyone know the ratio of size of the dot and distance between them to create targets for different range zeroes?
For example, this target will have 2 dots on it: one inch diameter each, and one directly above the other with one inch distance between the centers of each dot (thus, the edges are touching; half an inch from each dot). This will put my zero one inch high at 100 yards, or so the original creator of this target says, if this target is set up 25 yards away. OK????
What I would like to do is be able to create targets that I can set up at any range I want, specific to each target of course. So maybe I want one that is designed to give a dead-on zero at 100 yards, if the target itself id placed at 3 yards away; or one that gives a dead-on zero at 400 yards if the paper is set at 17.39487 yards away; or whatever.
Basically i want to know how to create all possible combinations.
Can this be done? Can any rifle expert help educate me on this project?
A million thanks,
C-
