I am a Target pistol Shooter.. Over the Last 3 months My eyesight has Changed for the Worse.. I wear one contac in my left eye (Non Dominant eye) for reading.. Thus does me no good for shooting because I close that eye.. So what should I do .....Go to a contac in each EYE?? I have tried using just cheap Walmart reading glasses with no contac..The front sight is nice and crisp but the target is so blurry (the Bulls-eye looks like a Distorted cloud covered fuzzy blob... ) BTW I am going to see an eye doctor in a few weeks.. I just wondered how fellow shooters corrected this problem.. :what:

Red dot. It's cheating, but anything that makes sighting easier is well worth it to me.

You can also try the Merit device, puts everything in the same focal plane. Doesn't work so well in dim light.
Thanks for the Input... I love open Sights on Pistols... So I want to shoot them as long as I can..(I will even consider some sort of eye surgery if that is an option...) Thanks to The first Poster I will check out the Other thread...:D

Same issue here. I just found out I have a cataract and don't have an eyeglass issue. I am getting ready for surgery and hopefully getting back some eyesight. I would suggest you see your doctor ASP and best of luck!

Well, if your vision can be corrected by glasses or cataract surgery you're lucky. The vision in my right eye started going south about two years ago, and after visiting my regular ophthalmologist and a specialist I was told I had macular edema which means I can't see clearly in the center of the field of vision of my right eye. Last spring my left eye started getting fuzzy, and it turned out that macular edema has started in my left eye as well.

A shot of Avastin, yes the expensive cancer drug, didn't do anything for my right eye, but helped the left eye for at least a while. Wednesday I go in to the specialist for another check and her opinion. That and some floaters and other problems make my vision from my left eye like looking through about a dozen dirty screen doors. NOT FUN!

Better luck to you!

Had it done last year. Less than an hour and a easy recovery period requiring little more than drops on a regular basis. Vision went to almost 20/20 in the eye but I still need correction to read.
